Canvas image edges borders
To create image edges, we simply print the image slightly larger than the chosen size to give us sufficient printed canvas to fold around the sides of the stretcher frame. However, if you want the stretched canvas to be the same shape as the original image, and the image is rectangular, this results in larger borders on the longer dimension as illustrated below.
We can make the borders even if you wish, but this will change the aspect-ratio (the shape) of the image slightly. The advantage with even borders is that you will see slightly more of the image on the front of the stretched canvas.
